Obituary for
Wayne DeWayne "Wayne" Richardson
Morris Dewayne (Wayne) Richardson, age 82, of Piedmont, passed away peacefully with loved ones, Oct. 29, 2016 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital. He was born Oct. 10, 1934, to Oscar and Lois (Beaman) Richardson in Corning, AR.
He was preceded in death by both parents, and parents who helped raise him, mother Eddie Richardson and father David Coonce Sr.; one brother David Coonce Jr., one son, Mark Richardson, and one granddaughter, Sabrina Gomez.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marcella (Hanger) Richardson, children, Rhonda “Kay” Zapp and husband Randy of New Minden, IL; Jina Vanmeter and husband Hank of Irondale, MO; Renee Zapp of Okavmille, IL; Ryan Richardson of Gilispie, IL; Brian Richardson of Piedmont, MO; and Diane (Richardson) Lucas of Pittsburg, PA; Step mother Marie Coonce of Grandin, MO; 12 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
Wayne served his country in the United States Navy.
He worked as an operating engineer for heavy equipment, and was a member of the Local 513 operating engineer union.
Wayne was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Visitation was held Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ruegg Funeral Home in Piedmont, followed by the Funeral at 2:00 P.M. at the Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery, with full military honors.
Pastor Richard Sanders ministered to the family. Dale Martin performed a song for the service. Ronnie Meyer, Levi Gomez, Bobby Hanger, Donnie Meyer, Travis Graham, and Drake Richardson served as pallbearers.
