Obituary for
Ruth Patterson
Alma “Ruth” Patterson, 85, of Festus, Mo, formerly of Wayne County, MO., passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Mercy Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Ruth was born August 2, 1931, in rural Wayne County, MO, daughter of the late Richard and Lillie “Belle” Boyer nee’ Turnbough.
Ruth grew up in rural Wayne County and received her education to instruct in schools in Missouri. She also worked in nutrition services for nursing homes.
She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, enjoying making quilts for her family, crafting, and fishing. She loved westerns and Cardinal’s games, attending her final game last year and loving it.
She was a Christian and was of the Baptist Faith.
Ruth is survived by her children Charles “Chuck” Morris and his wife Gwen of Fairfax, MO, Roger Morris and wife Sharon of Festus, MO, Richard “Rick” Patterson and wife Susan of Farmington, MO, Joan Giudicy of DeSoto, MO, Renee’ Patterson of Crystal City, MO, and Patricia “Patti Belle” Patterson of Festus, MO; seventeen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; four brothers, Johnny Boyer and wife Mary Ellen of St. Charles, MO, Roy Boyer of Festus, MO, Ed Boyer, of Piedmont, MO, Bob Boyer and wife Rhonda of Piedmont, MO; three sisters, Alice Morris, Ione Morris and husband Raymond, and Peggy Casey and husband Ted, all of Piedmont, MO.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Liam Julius; two brothers, Bill and Carl Boyer; two sisters, Inez Boyer and Tessie Sutton.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 24, 2017, at 5:00 P.M., at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, MO. Services will follow Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 2:30 P.M., also at the Piedmont chapel.
