Jimmy Wayne  Cross
Jimmy Wayne Cross, 55, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Mercy Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Jimmy was born August 20, 1961, to parents Gene and Shirley Cross nee’ Byrd, at St. Louis, MO.
Jimmy had served in the United States Navy many years before an injury forced early retirement. He had also worked as a truck driver for ten years over the road for Hogan until health issues forced his retirement. In later years, he had found sense of purpose by being a member of the Arnold Hodge post #281, Piedmont, MO, in which he served on the funeral honors team.
Jimmy was a jack of all trades and could figure out anything. He enjoyed his time on the farm with Penny and enjoyed helping others. He loved his children equally and enjoyed his grandchildren.
He past attended Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, MO.
He is survived by his loving wife of five years, Penny; daughters, Molly Morgan and husband Gary, Allison Young and husband Chris, and Carissa Cross all of Ellsinore, MO, Erica Woods and fiancé Meheonamashea White of Piedmont, MO, Jessica Hills of Farmington, MO, Stephanie Webster and husband Devin of Farmington, MO; son, Jake Woods of Piedmont, MO; ten grandchildren, Matty, Peyton, Aiden, Emmitt, Caselyn, Malachi, Cameron, Muhalya, Graylyn, Kendyll; parents, Gene and Shirley Cross of Poplar Bluff, MO; sisters, Sherry Shepard and husband Gary of Wappapello and Charlotte Rose and husband Victor of Imperial, MO; nieces, Stacy Hoagland, Stefanie Ralls; nephew, Vic Rose and wife Loretta; great nieces, Alexa, Adalynn, Brooklynn; great nephew Brantley; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by nephew Michael Rose.
He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, April 1, 2017, beginning at 10:00 am, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, MO. Memorial service will follow at 11:00 am, at the chapel. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
