George Butler
George Butler, 83, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at his residence. George was born May 3, 1934, in Dyersburg, TN, to Monroe and Clarise (Brinkley) Butler.
George had been a supervisor and lead man in various jobs over the years. He also worked for the Army Corps of Engineers, and owned his own bar, The Sportsman, near Clearwater Lake.
In his free time he enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his companion of thirty-two years, Barbara Brinkley, of the home; four daughters: Vickie Lynn Briner and Sheila Ann Butler, both of Maryland Heights, MO; Robin Renee’ McKinney of Overland, MO; Donna Sue Arnold of House Springs, MO; six grandchildren: Michael Briner, Matthew Briner, Shawn McKinney, Julie Ann Giancola, Kyle Arnold, and Kameron Arnold; one brother, Johnny Butler and wife, Doris, of Dyersburg, TN; two sisters, Becky Keath of Jackson, TN, and Audrey Hastings of Dyersburg, TN. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Jerome Butler; three brothers, Monroe Butler, Henry Butler, and Cledus Butler; and two sisters, Christine Wilkerson and Nevada Terry.
The family would like to thank the Piedmont Ambulance Crew, Bro. Cliff Anderson, their neighbors the Clements, and Sharon Lloyd for all of their help during our time of need.
Visitation will be held, Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 12:30 pm at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont. A Memorial service will follow at 1:00pm also at the Piedmont Chapel. Cliff Anderson will minister to the family. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
