Obituary for Amy Katherine Peppers (Eaton)

Amy Katherine Peppers (Eaton)
Amy Katherine Peppers, 84, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital. She was born July 26, 1933 at Peach Tree, Piedmont, MO, to parents Parker and Hazel (Eads) Eaton.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was married to Gene Hicks for over twenty years until his passing. She was then married twenty plus years to Jerome Peppers until his passing. Amy was a spiritual woman who loved kids. In fact, she had over two-hundred children through out her life time that she loved dearly and who called her mom. She was an Industrial Aide at a workshop in St. Louis for handicapped children for over twenty years until she was promoted to supervisor over all the children. There was never a dull moment around Amy as she was a definite charmer, a card shark, enjoyed bingo and was a genuine cut-up. Amazingly, even in her last days, she always remembered everyone’s birthday, and wanted to be sure everyone was fed.
In addition to her husbands, she is preceded in death by her parents; one son: Joseph Randall Hicks; two brothers: Lenard and Sam Eaton; two sisters: Bonnie Ragan and Rose Mary Melton.
She is survived by daughters: Donna Hicks of Piedmont and Sharon Janis and husband Daniel of Danville, IL; grandchildren: Eric Ousley, Danny Janis and Angie Janis; great-grandchildren: Ericka Ousley and Derek Ousley; great-great-grandchild: Aiden Scott Loftis; and sister: Darlas Hicks and husband Albert of Arnold, MO.

Visitation was Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at 11:00 am until funeral services began at 1:00 pm, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, MO. Pastor Richard Sanders ministered to the family. Eric Ousley, Derek Ousley, Richard McKinney, Zach Loftis, Dalton Allen and Richard Knight served as pallbearers. Burial followed at Green Hill cemetery near Piedmont, MO.
